Notes Kalesa is a Tagalog word which means horse-drawn carriage. It exists in the Filipino culture as a folk song which has been transcribed in a variety of ways. In my setting, the sonic world of the horse (i.e. whinnying and trotting) is set in opposition to the world of the Filipino folk tune about the horse. Throughout the piece, these worlds are constantly in flux, colliding with one another and are subsequently affected.
